Faqs

ABOUT OUR SHOWS
When/where/how much are your shows?
We perform on Fridays and Mondays starting at 8pm on the ASU Memorial Union Stage (in the basement underneath Pitchforks, right around the corner from Jamba Juice). Every show is completely free!

When's your next show?
Farce Side and Barren Mind perform (almost) every Friday during the semester, and Tempe Late Night performs on three Mondays out of the semester. We make a Facebook event for every single show, so you can find individual show information (dates/themes/special guests) on our Facebook page.

Is it only for ASU students?
No! Anyone is invited to come to our shows! However our shows are not typically "family friendly", so you may want to think twice about bringing children or elderly relatives.

Can I eat/drink/smoke at your show?
You're welcome to eat (as long as you don't make a mess), but please no drinking or smoking at our shows. ASU is a dry and tobacco free campus.

Where should I park?
The ASU Gammage parking lot is free after 7pm, but if they have a show you'll want to park in one of the other ASU lots.
ABOUT AUDITIONS
When/where are auditions?
We hold auditions at the start of every semester - typically the Thursday and Friday of the first full week of classes. We'll post the actual dates, times, and room numbers on this website and on our Facebook page a few weeks before.

Do I have to come both days?
It is not mandatory but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you come to both days. The more we see you, the more we get to know you and the more likely we are to cast. you. But if you have to miss a day or show up late/leave early for class/work, that's not necessarily a deal breaker.

What do I need to prepare?
Nothing! Our auditions consist of a variety of group sketch and improv activities that we'll teach you once you get there. The only thing you need to bring is your ASU ID, something to write with, and any writing samples you may want us to look at.

Is this my only opportunity to be a cast member?
No! We hold auditions at the start of every semester and there is no limit to how many times you can audition. It's normal for it to take 2-3 tries before getting cast on an ASU Comedy troupe.

What's the time commitment if I'm cast?
Each group has its own individual time commitment and if you are cast you are expected to be at every rehearsal. The rehearsal schedules typically change from semester to semester, so you'll find the most up-to-date information in our audition Facebook event. Here are the rehearsal schedules for the Fall 2021 semester:
