Farce Side Comedy Hour Cast
The Farce Side Comedy Hour is an all original sketch show that performs every Friday at 12:40 in the Memorial Union on the stage below the Taco Bell.

Michael Margetis - Performance Director

Picture
Fresh from his winter sabbatical in a dope cabin in Flagstaff, Michael Margetis has emerged to bring you some of the most righteous sketch comedy this campus hath ever seen. Along with being the performance director of Farce Side Comedy Hour and cast member of Barren Mind Improv, Michael intends on attempting stand-up comedy in the near future. While this is only his second semester involved with ASU Comedy, Michael has been featured in two of last year's ASU Mainstage productions; Camino Real and Anon(ymous) as a sweat shop manager / pedophilic truck driver. He was also seen in last ASU's Prism Theatre production Hamlet [Redux] crawling under people's seats and growling at them. No stranger of intimidating strangers, Michael Margetis has also been sighted screwing with random people around campus including religious protesters, dudes who hang around Einsteins and the occassional custodian. Michael one day hopes to play in the NBA.

Richie Tolway - Writing Director

Picture
Richie Tolway is a 21 year old acting major. His start with ASU Comedy came about when he auditioned for Farce Side two semesters ago. He sucked royally. He continued to try to make cast by submitting sketches for Farce Side and volunteering to run tech. His commitment to the troupe paid off, and he made cast the next semester. After a semester of dedicated writing, he was named Writing Director for the Spring ’10 semester. Richie is ecstatic about the way the troupe is forming this semester. He is confident that with the strength in the writing and acting, along with the co-directorship of Michael Margetis, this will be one of Farce Side’s most memorable semesters ever.

Ryan Beard

Picture
Ryan Beard (BA, Film Production) is a Junior from Tacoma, Washington. He began acting and improvising in high school, and attended Central Washington University where he continued theatre and joining Sharks with Legs, CWU's improv troupe. After spending a few years at CWU, he transferred to ASU because he liked its woman and weather better. Apart from performing, Rytan enjoys dance music and getting in arguments. He thinks long walks on the beach generally suck.

David Oney

Picture
David A. Oney is a freshman at ASU, pursuing a BioChemistry degree and a Theatre minor. Born and raised in Tempe, his only previous acting experiences was his high school’s theatre and improv clubs. He also has a problem with grammer. And spelling. He is beyond excited to be a part of Farce Side this semester, and hopefully many more to come. In his spare time, he likes to neuter kittens and embark on Superbad-esque adventures. He is generally not a fan tranny porn and neutering kittens.

Haley Kosan - Tech

Picture
Hayley Kosan is fresh meat to the Farce Side stage. After watching the Farce Side perform the last three years, she decided to give it a try and is thrilled to be apart of the show. Hayley has been a member this last year of the web series "Shark Jumpers," which currently plays on ASU's statepress.com. Hayley is a junior in hot pursuit of a BA in Film and Media Production. When she is not busy running or swinging cats around in burlap bags, she enjoys day dreaming she is best friends with Meryl Streep and Tina Fey and is married to Jake Gyllenhaal.

Stephanie Harris

Picture
Stephanie Harris is currently in her third year at ASU. She got onto Farce Side the first week of her Freshman year and has been doing ASUcomedy ever since. She has loved every wacky minute of it. As a theatre major with no real plans for the future, some may say that Farce Side will be the height of her acting career. THE END.

Jamie Sandamorie

Picture
Jamie Sandomire is a senior majoring in theatre with a concentration in acting. She has loved performing since she was a tiny tot and has acted in a variety of theatre productions on and off the ASU campus. She is pa-syched for her very first semester on Farce Side and her very last semester of college. Ever. Probably. She has an appreciation for all (most) funny people/places/things, being little spoon, and dancing her tuchas off.

Samuel John Lowy

Picture
Samuel John Lowy has been a member of ASU Comedy for only three semesters now, and is absolutely thrilled to be directing Barren Mind improv. Sam has been on the stage for nearly ten years doing community theatre, high school theatre and some film productions. A sophomore majoring in English Literature, Sam enjoys playing music, freestyle rapping, writing, and beautiful women. Sam is also an elite member of the Farce Side Comedy Hour. Sam is also an elite member of the Farce Side Comedy Hour at ASU and a founding member of Marvin's Room at the Torch Theatre in downtown Phoenix

Danny Vega

Picture
Danny Vega has been a member of ASU Comedy for only three semesters now and is looking incredibly forward to assisting Samuel in directing the troupe. He has been doing improv for several years, before ASU with EXiT 185 Improv, and The Torch Theatre. He is a sophomore majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with the concentrations of film and theater.  His hobbies include making phat beats, flowing, and eating really spicy food.  Danny is also a proud member of Farce Side Comedy, The Thirteenth Floor, and PITA (like PETA, but the opposite).

Connor McAlpine

Picture
A veteran member of Farce Side Sketch Comedy hour, Connor McAlpine is ready to spring into action and own your faces off this semester. Over the break Connor began training to break the land speed record for the 100m dash through spaghetti. Someday Connor hopes to go to Tokyo to be on one of those crazy Japanese game shows so he can finally get a real pokemon of his very own.

Carly Kastner

Picture
Carly Kastner is (kind of) a senior at ASU as an Interdisciplinary Studies Major with concentrations in Theatre for Youth and Communication. This is Carly’s fifth and final semester with ASU Comedy. Carly also performs with Barren Mind Improv and The Thirteenth Floor. Her current hobbies include: enjoying Netflix. That’s it. Just hour after pathetic hour of Netflix instant watch. Oh, and Glee! Thanks, Fox network, for finally making a show that I like. For Carly’s Resume, please visit: http://sites.google.com/site/carlykastnersresume/

David Robles - Understudy

Picture
A shout from the soggy south, David Elias Robles (Print Journalism) was raised in Little Rock, Arkansas and transplanted to sunny Phoenix before his junior year of high school. Realizing how shitty life was in Peoria, AZ, he left his senior year for the cold of Milan, Italy. Finally settled in downtown Phoenix, David speaks three-and-a-half languages fluently: English, Spanish, Italian, and that gibberish language that girls in elementary school speak. A natural born lady-killer, David loves fine cuisine, high-end liquors, and all things out of his price range. When not killing ladies or his liver, David enjoys a wide variety of music, cycling, and toying the idea of playing guitar.

Michael Skarsten

Picture
Michael Skarsten is currently a freshman studying journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at ASU. This is Michael's second semester with ASU comedy. He has performed in several theatrical productions and was a member of Rebels Without Applause. Michael also enjoys music making, stylish duds, and furniture. He is also a member of The Thirteenth Floor improv.

Ben Backhaus

Picture
Ben Backhaus is a freshman journalism student at ASU. His poop curdles from the euphoric delight of embarking on another semester of comedy with the motley crew that is Barren Mind and Farce Side. He loves making music, writing, movies, and the idea of gardening.

Nicholas Shekerjian

Picture
Nicholas Shekerjian is currently a freshman studying the grand expanse that is Bioengineering. He thoroughly enjoys what music has to offer to the human experience and finds it a prominent influence in the creative process. As a clarinetist of 10 years and a mountainous Armenian, music is his foremost bedfellow. Nick is also an aspiring photographer, artist, and gymnast however due to his tiny hands these goals are unobtainable. Besides being pretentious, he loves peanut butter and is really excited to be delving into a new creative form. That’s it!
